Even if you don’t believe that bit of science, the reality is that visual reporting and written reporting will take you to different parts of a scene and hold you there longer. I have never been in a newsroom where you could do someone else’s job and also do yours well.
Photojournalists Sharing the World through Instagram
Photojournalists from around the globe have begun using Instagram as an important part of their storytelling, using the intimacy and immediacy of mobile photography to open up new avenues of engagement with their audiences.

First, it’s great that Elles van Gelder (videographer) and Ilvy Njiokiktjien (photographer) from the Netherlands received the 1st Prize for Afrikaner Blood. That package did well in POYi too. And as I mentioned before, it’s a must, must watch.
Even if the contest concentrates on linear productions, we also wanted to make space for and reflect on new developments and trends and recognize excellence in the field of non-linear, interactive multimedia. For this purpose, we invited the jury members to nominate productions they felt would be interesting to consider.
